Fly Fishing The Tampa Bay, Sarasota, St Pete Beach,
and Clearwater Beach areas during the night time hours
is a fantastic way to catch fish on fly. Trips are
conducted on the protected waters of the ICW (inter
coastal waterway) and residential canals. Snook and
Tarpon are primarily nocturnal feeders and are often
found feeding under the lighted docks after dark. A
variety of other species including redfish, seatrout,
ladyfish, bluefish and snapper are all found lurking in the
shadows at night.
The target fish will typically hang in or around the
lighted area near a dock or other structure. This
allows for a total sight fishing experience. The prey
or bait fish they are feeding on is usually very small.
A tiny fly is made to imitate the prey. This allows the
fly rod to be real effective tool for catching fish at
