Let Capt. Nick guide you along a mangrove shore line or crystal
clear grass flat. The feeling of being outdoors and hunting you favorite
fish is what the sport of light tackle fishing is all about.  Tampa Bay and
Sarasota are two great places to fish this way. You can work a plug for
redfish, cast jigs for snook and trout, or toss a live cab into a school of
tarpon off the clear waters of Anna Maria Island.  What ever type of
fishing you enjoy, The Tampa bay and surrounding areas can offer.
While fishing Tampa Bay, there are an abundance of fish species to
catch. The most popular are the snook, redfish, seatrout, and tarpon.
These fish roam the shallow flats, and mangrove line shorelines. They
can be sight fished, or caught working jigs, plugs, or soft plastics.  In
addition to these game fish are mackerel, snapper, cobia, pompano,
sharks, grouper, ladyfish, sheepshead, black drum, jacks, little tunny,
and even bluefish.   All of these species can be found in shallow water,
and caught from small skiff. Often times when fishing deeper grass
flats, there is no telling what you might catch.
I  like to let the season determine where we are fishing and what we
are fishing for.  Some fish are migratory, and others move into
different areas as the seasons change. This allows for a variety of
fishing scenarios. The most popular fishing around Tampa Bay is
Spring and Summer Tapon fishing. Fall and Winter redfishing on the
flats from Sarasota to Homosassa is a close second.  If you are
interested in a particular stye of fishing or just want to get out and
fish, please feel free to contact me.
