I was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and I had a
fishing rod in my hand as soon as I could walk. I am
thankful I lived on the water the whole time I was
growing up; my first fish was caught out of a small
canal right in my backyard. My father and uncle
would take me out on a small bass boat whenever
they had a chance on lakes that were filled with
peacock bass, bluegill, largemouth bass, various
species of aquarium fish, and even small tarpon. For
a kid who loved to fish, this was paradise.
At age 12 my friends father purchased a flats boat, a
Hewes Redfisher. He also bought a fly rod, and was
getting into this thing called "flats fishing". After
watching him cast it a few times, I decided I needed to
get in on the act. With much persistence, I convinced
my pops to spend $100 for a fly fishing outfit and I've
never put it down since then.

My professional career started when I was working for Outdoor World in Dania Beach, Florida, while attending college. I
would tie flies, occasionally selling a few. I enjoyed going to work, but I really looked forward to fishing on my days off. It was
then I became truly serious about fishing. I had the opportunity to fish with some knowledgeable people back then. I still call
them to hear their latest fishing tales.
I have since moved away from the bonefish flats of Biscayne Bay, to Tampa. I have been here for several years now. My
family and friends were all supportive of the idea of me leaving a promising career as a chef and pursuing a guiding career.
My professional career has allowed me to work in the Florida Keys, Miami, Alaska, and Florida's West coast. I have a passion
for fishing and prefer poling a skiff under the warm Florida sun, rather than being crammed in a small kitchen all day. I am
happy I made that decision and I've never looked back. I look forward to sharing my passion for fishing with you.
